*REVIEW* Target by L.P. Dover

5 Stars

Brina Carmichael is 16 years old when her father is killed in front of her while celebrating Christmas in Wyoming. 13 years later she is struggling to keep her store, Endless Summer afloat and her mom recommends her asking Wade Chandler for help.

Wade Chandler lives a double life. In one instant he is an assassin working for a secret group within the FBI and then he also his highly successful family business where he invests in struggling businesses. When Brina comes to him needing help he agrees and can't help but be attracted to her.

But both Wade and Brina have secrets they are keeping from the other and when the truth comes out will it drive them apart? When Brina's brother Noah, the President of the Unites States is shot her life becomes more guarded and when her niece Trinity stays with her will the pressure be too much?

I thought this book was great! It caught my attention from the first page and I didn't want to stop reading.

Brina was such a great character and had been through so much in her life. I was horrified how Christmas was essentially destroyed for her but her mom needed to continue with the tradition and return to Wyoming. But at the same time I understood that it was a place where she would not be in the press. I loved how simple Brina lived her life with her store and that it was her passion to draw and create clothes and surfboards.

Wade was such an interesting character with his "double" life. I liked how the job was passed down to him from his dad Glenn, who was an important part of Brina's dad's inner circle. I also loved how Glenn wanted to protect Brina from the playboy side of Wade saying he thought of her as a daughter.

I definitely loved the hotness of the relationship between Brina and Wade. Wade was so protective over Brina and hated whenever he needed to leave her.

I honestly never saw the twist coming and was surprised by it but loved it! It made the story so much more grittier and I knew that there would be a fight no matter what happened. Loved it!!

Definitely looking forward to more from this author!
