*REVIEW* Caution on Ice by SR GREY

REVIEW from Sassy Southern

3 stars
Please don’t let this review deter you from reading other books in this series-as I’m going to go ahead and read the rest of them now, too. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this series, so when I was reading Dylan and Chloe’s story, I kept that information in the back of my mind.
Chloe knows first hand what domestic abuse is, and is escaping her past by living closer to her brother. Dylan has witnessed his mother go through, and not make it through, a domestic abusive relationship. He carries guilt for not protecting his mother better, and is looking for someone to help. This is a tough subject, as many might have some kind of trigger to it. The author wrote about such a serious topic, and did so very well. The part that fell short for me was the character dialogue. It felt so incredibly forced, and in effort to try and create some quick wit, I think it compromised the seriousness of angst and emotion that both Chloe and Dylan needed to go through.
All and all, the story line was creative and raw, and the writing was error free. Again, I’m going to go ahead and read the rest of this series, because I love each supporting character the author created. Definitely has the makings of a great series!
