*REVIEW* Lovestruck (The Donovan Brothers #6) by Nana Malone

REVIEW from Sassy Southern Girl

Both Zephyr and Malia are struggling, albeit for different reasons. Zephyr finds his escape upon receiving a letter offering him a position, of which he happily accepts. As for Malia, she's attending college and working numerous part-time jobs, all while sending home every penny she can to help with her sister.

Zephyr and Malia have a mutual attraction, but it's also a forbidden one as dating a student is frowned upon. Plus, Malia has quite the independent streak, and it's to her detriment at times. The build-up to them coming together takes a while, and I wish it would've happened sooner. As Zephyr works to get through Malia's defenses and get her to stop pushing him away, Malia must learn she can't do everything on her own, that it's okay to lean on someone else and ask for help.

While Zephyr and Malia work through their own personal issues, as well as the professional one that requires them to maintain their distance, they must decide what's more important and if they could truly walk away from each other.

Will Zephyr break through the barrier guarding Malia's heart? Will Malia realize Zephyr truly cares before it's too late? Will their relationship be discovered? What happened in Zephyr's past? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as a forbidden love becomes harder to resist.

While I liked the premise and forbidden aspect of their romance, on a purely personal note, I felt the ow drama included was unnecessary. These two had enough issues to work through, but then to throw in "competition," for the heroine, and for the "Hero" to actually go on a date with the woman, dance with her, AND let her touch him intimately at only half-way into the story? No, just no. It made me lose respect for Zephyr and some of my interest in them as a couple. He and Malia had already kissed, there were already feelings, and yet he does that. Oh, and the heroine saw this happen. Yeah, that's how you prove to a woman you really care. Date another and let her feel you up, in front of the woman you claim to care for. It doesn't matter whether it turned him on or not. It's, in essence, emotional cheating at the least because we know he and Malia have feelings for each other, and have been intimate in some ways, and throwing it in her face since she sees it all happen. If the other woman situation was removed, it would improve my rating, and investment in the characters. Now, this in no way detracts from the author's talent, but it did my enjoyment as a reader. I know others may be able to overlook the entire situation considering the heroine kept pushing him away, but him letting her and dating someone else, etc., where the heroine not only knows about it but also sees it, weakens him in my eyes.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
