Review for If Only by Beckie Stevenson

5 Stars

Evie Romano was trying to put her life together after the loss of her brother 8 years ago. Yet nothing prepares her for seeing Cole Bennett again and all of the memories that he brought back with him as he begins working with Evie.

But sometimes life isn't that simple and secrets were kept as a way of protecting those we love, yet they can do more damage than anyone thought possible. And one night can cost you everything.

I loved this story and all of the heartbreak that it brought. The book was written with two points of view for most of it, with Evie in the present and Cole in the past. It really allowed you to see what both have gone through in a unique way that really makes you bond with both characters.

The hate that Evie has towards Cole is real but there is so much hurt with it that you understand why she is still drawn to Cole. Yet at the end when you realize what has happened you just want to cry. My heart just went out to Cole, especially at the end and I can't imagine how he felt going through everything that he did.

There is no way to write about how the book made me feel without ruining some important details but this book definitely pulled at my heart!

I will definitely be picking up more books by the author as this was my first one!
