Lily MacKay has been drugged, kidnapped and imprisoned in a Hong Kong brothel and she has no idea why someone has taken her. She tries to escape but is unsuccessful and she just wants her freedom back.
Xavier Finch is a businessman who has come to Hong Kong for a meeting with Robert Ban, which was set up by his business partner, Peter Stein.
When Xavier spots Lily he knows he recognizes her but he won’t so anything to jeopardize her. Can Xavier save Lily when he doesn’t know who he is up against?
This was a super interesting book that leaves you with a bit of a cliff-hanger at the end of this one!
My heart broke for Lily as it was obvious she had no idea why someone would take her unless they wanted money from her late father’s estate. Yet the longer she was held captive the more unsure she was of what was happening. I gave her so much credit for trying to escape and not giving up the idea of freedom.
It was clear that Xavier had no clue about what was going on and as the book went on I understood more of why he was kept in the dark. I loved how protective he was over Lily and how he knew that there was no way at all he was going to leave her.
It was super interesting why no one had claimed she was missing and I can’t wait to learn more about that.
The bombshell at the end of the book was huge and I am eagerly waiting for the next book!
