On the Rocks by Gillian Jones
4 Stars
In the second book of the series the focus is on Ryker's older brother Levi. Levi is the owner of the bar Pub Fiction and has no time or desire for a relationship with focusing so much time on his bar. But when the bar loses Ryker, Kat and Claire he begins to look for others to fill the option postions.
Braunwyn Daniels lost the love of her life 4 years ago but was left with Emmerson, her daughter. Grateful for her grandma and best friend London, Braun gets a job at Pub Fiction to try and earn some more money to support herself and Emmerson.
When Levi and Braun meet sparks fly but Braun has no intention of letting him know anything about her past, or her daughter. Yet, when Levi finds out the truth will it bring them closer or push Levi away, knowing he has no interest in settling down?
I really enjoyed this book and it tackled another difficult topic - suicide. I thought it really touched on all of the facets of suicide and how it's not meant to hurt anyone. I thought it was covered extremely beautifully and it was definitely done really well.
I loved the change in Levi from the first book to this one and how he really discovered what was important to him.
Braun was such a strong woman with everything that she coped with and has had to go through. I love characters like hers as they have so much resilience yet don't really realize it as they are so busy worrying about those around them.
This was a great book and I am really hoping there will be more!
