*REVIEW* Under the lights by Tia Louise

REVIEW from Sassy Southern Girl - Victoria

5 Stars

Absolutely brilliant! Lara and Mark are immediately drawn to one another while working at the same show in New Orleans. Lara aspires to be a famous singer-but for now, singing practically nude for rich men for a little more than a roof over her head, is what she must do to take care of herself and Molly. Her job is as seedy as they come, but a breathe of fresh air gives her a glimpse at love. Mark is trying to earn some money to put him through the police academy, but even as straight laced as he hopes to be, he knows there’s no coming back from the demons he encounters while working the at the infamous burlesque club, and firmly swears he will lay down his life protecting Lara from these same demons.
I’ve never read anything like this before, the plot was just absolutely amazing at every twist and turn, and it was so amazing to get a glimpse of life in New Orleans. I especially loved the female heroine, Lara, as I saw her throughout the book being a fighter. She continuously battles outside sources and puts her own emotions on hold in order to protect herself and Molly. Mark, oh god mark! He’s so dreamy. He cares so much about Lara and that itself makes me completely starry eyed over him.
This does end on a cliff hanger-and I’m dying to read more of Mark and Lara’s story! A definite must read by this author!
