*REVIEW* for Consumed Series by Abigail M.

Consumed by Deception by Abigail M.

 3.5 Stars
This is the second book in the series and book 1, Consumed by Revenge needs to be read first. This book begins 3 weeks after the last book ended with Abigail getting out of the hospital and trying to figure out what has been going on. Jake and Adam are now working together and Brock needs Jake's help for a case he is working on. When Beth is rescued we discover that maybe their intended target was not who they thought and maybe it is a plan of revenge. Will Jake and Brock be able to keep Aspen safe from someone out there that is hell bent on revenge? I found this book things started falling into place and making more sense than the first book. This book showed us relationships between people and it looks like we now know who the intended target was/is. I completely understand why Aspen was in for such a shock when she came out of the hospital and everyone seemed to have made peace with each other. Yet Aspen still feels like things are being held from her. Jake seems totally dedicated to Aspen and wishes she would understand how much he truly cares about her and how he made a huge mistake! I'm extremely curious to discover what the relationship is between Curtis and Brock. This book ends in another cliff-hanger and I am looking forward to book 3!

Aspen has visions and works at the gym that her brother Brock owns. Aspen is trying to get over Adam and when she meets Jake Sinclair he may be the answer to her needs with a one night stand. But Aspen must also help Adam find his missing girlfriend, Beth, who has vanished without a trace. Jake Sinclair has one thing on his mind and all of that is put in jeopardy when he meets Aspen. Yet he must stick to the plan as he promised he would. But what happens when Aspen figures out more than she should? This was a short story that was filled with action and almost too much happening at the same time. We got glimpses into what Aspen could see with her visions and were trying to figure out how they were related to Beth and Aspen was trying to put the pieces together without worrying Adam and Brock. The parts with Jake and Danny came out of no where and I was honestly confused at how this was coming together as I thought the story was headed in a different direction with Aspen trying to find Beth. I liked Aspen and I can understand why she was feeling overwhelmed and exhausted with everything going on yet she didn't want to worry those that cared about her. I was really liking Jake until that moment when it came out of nowhere and then of course at the very end when we are left with a cliff-hanger regarding Aspen! Looking forward to seeing what happens next with Aspen!
