*REVIEW* You Shook Me All Night Long by Simone Harlow

You Shook Me All Night Long by Simone Harlow

4 STARS

Charlotte Lambert has always lived a life where she follows the rules that have been set out for her and never pushed the boundaries. When her twin sister Vivienne dies she is given a list from Vivienne of 15 things that she needs to accomplish. One is climb a mountain and another is sleep with a rock star.

Travis Rexford is a guitarist in the band Scorned. He is counting down the days until the album they are working on is completed so he can leave the band. Travis has been struggling since the death of his band mate and close friend Andy.

When Charlotte sneaks in bandstage after a Scorned concert she meets Travis and she gets one thing off her list. But Travis wants more than just one night with Charlotte. As the two get closer they discover that not everyone is happy with the two of them together.

Charlotte must decide if she is ready to live life for herself and not do what is expected of her or live her life the way her mom wants her to and give up Travis.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a light and fun read about coming into the person that you want to be and not what society has planned for you. Although there was some conflict in the book it was limited and I found that it added to the story and didn't take away from it.

I loved the change in Charlotte. She was an amazing and kind person and that never changed as she became more of herself and not the woman that her mom wanted her to be. She was still the same person but began enjoying life more. Travis challenged her to live a different life than she was used to but she enjoyed it.

Travis had so much guilt inside him for Andy's death and he equated being in the band with surviving when Andy was gone. Charlotte brought back the happiness that he was missing and brought back the music to his heart and soul. Yet not everyone was happy with their relationship as the band knew that Travis was planning on leaving.

I loved Charlotte's grandma and the scene with her and Travis was awesome!

This book had so many interesting characters within the band and their families and I hope the author writes more stories with the band members.
